Electronic Artists Consortium (EAC) is composed of software vendors, graphics professionals, artists, and consumers dedicated to the creation and distribution of superior quality desktop artwork (pixel patterns, or "ppats"), graphics software and graphics services. Consortium members receive free tools for creating and managing desktop artwork, access to artwork created by other members, discounted 3rd party graphics software and discounted graphics services from Mantis Development Corporation and other vendors.
Founded by Mantis Development Corporation, EAC provides a commercial distribution mechanism for artists whose works are registered with the consortium. Registered artwork bears a unique copyright string available only to EAC-approved works. The artist retains full credit and copyright, while gaining valuable commercial exposure and compensation for artwork registered with EAC.
